In light of my promise (and not being able to keep up yet) of daily to every other day posts, I am about to share with you an image- and start a ten day image share that I share one image, the “best” image from that date- from ten days in a row from my trip to Mongolia. I am starting on the first “date” that i have pictures in my files- but that “date” is wrong- so I’m just calling it “Day One” for that reason, and then noting it with either “Ulaanbaatar” or “Countryside” or “Terelj” – which may be vague, but that’s the best I have- unless it’s a specific building or statue or something that i can figure out the name of. Some of the images you may have already seen, if so, please just come back the next day
thanks {note: the top images on these posts are definitely not taken on the same day as the images I am sharing}
so… here we go…
Day Two
basically, too hard to choose just one!
This was the day when we went out to the countryside to by some sheep. Met a really nice family, checked out their herd and their cows and such- THIS was the place where the wild horses ran through just about right when we got there…
On the way there, we stopped at this Ovoo. I know you have seen at least one image of it already- honestly, it was the only one we stopped at the entire trip in Mongolia so I was glad I got these few images of it. Now that I think about it, this day had a lot of those kind of moments…. It was on this day that I realized I just might be in the most beautiful place on earth…
Below you will see a Ger with one of this family’s motorcycles by it. They had two, at least that is what i saw, anyhow, depending on what the errand was, different people used different methods of getting around- the horses, the motorcycles and I am sure that at least one of the families out in that area had a truck of some sort. It seemed to me that there were a few different family groups rather close together (but not really close like WE are used to) that helped each other out with different things- it seemed that one family made the felt for sure, and that another family might have been making extra cheese curds and seemed to have extra cow milking stations.
and… well…
and since I mentioned the horses, here is one of the horse pics…
pretty drastic from yesterday’s image, no?
